## Description

_**We have a new opening for a full-time Internal Medicine Physician at the Naval Medical Center San Diego...**_

**CORE Duties:**

-   Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.  
-   Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.  
-   Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.  
-   Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physical, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.   Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.  
-   Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. 

**Work Schedule:**

Monday - Friday  6:00am - 6:00pm - 8.5 hour shifts

No Holidays, No on call, or Weekends!

## Requirements

**Minimum Qualifications:**

-   **Degree:** Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).  
-   **Education:** Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.  
-   **Certification:** The DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists  
-   **Internship/Residency/Fellowship:** Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  
-   **Experience:** As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing instructions.  
-   **Licensure:** Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California.
-   **Life Support Certification:** Possess current American Heart Assoc or American Red Cross BLS certification.
-   **Security:** Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

**Base salary:** $305,760 - $326,560 as W2 w/benefits, or $424,320 as 1099 contractor
