## Description

The operations we automate run on work that has never been fully written down. There is usually a process document, and it usually describes the standard case. The parts that matter most sit with the people doing the work every day. That is why this work has resisted automation for so long, and why AI agents that can exercise judgement change what is possible.

As an AI Deployment Lead you own the deployment of our Virtual Agents end to end. You lead the customer through delivery, work out how their operation actually runs, agree what we are building and what we are not, and work alongside our Implementation Engineers to get it live and converted.

You are not a project coordinator. You are the person the customer trusts to understand their operation, and the person our engineers rely on to know what to build.

You'll join as our first AI Deployment Lead, working closely with product and engineering to build and mature the function, with an opportunity to step into a leadership role in future.

## Requirements

**About the role:**

- **Own deployments end to end.** Lead the engagement from kickoff through to a live, adopted automation. Set the plan, align stakeholders across operations, IT and the executive team, and hold everyone including the customer accountable to it
- **Discover how the work is really done.** Work alongside customer teams to understand the process as it exists rather than as it is documented: the volumes, the exceptions, the judgement calls, the decisions nobody wrote down. Turn that into a clear, agreed scope our engineers can build against and our customers recognise as their own. We're looking for people who are able to document the SOP, not only run the workshop
- **Advise on what to automate and what to leave.** Not every part of a process should be automated on day one. You make the trade-offs explicit, sequence what lands first, and make sure the customer understands what they're getting
- **Deliver alongside engineering.** Our Implementation Engineers own the technical design and build. You own the agreed customer outcome, scope and requirements, and you're close enough to the product to challenge a design, discuss access and integrations, and understand what's feasible
- **Define success and drive the decision.** Agree what good looks like and how it will be measured, capture the customer's baseline before we build, and lead the conversation that turns a pilot into a production service
- **Make the next deployment faster.** Turn what you learn into playbooks, patterns and product requirements. You're often the earliest signal on what our product needs to do next

**About you:**

- 5+ years in management, technology or transformation consulting, implementation or professional services, including time at AI Deployment Lead, Engagement Manager, Project Leader or equivalent level where you owned a programme end to end. We're looking for people who have run the engagement, not only staffed it
- Experience working inside complex operations and turning them into structure that technical teams can act on. Comfortable with processes that are messy, undocumented and internally contested
- Comfortable managing several deployments at once, with competing priorities and multiple stakeholder groups
- Technically fluent. You don't need to code, but you need to hold your own with engineers on integrations, access, data and feasibility
- Strong stakeholder presence. Comfortable with an operations team on Monday and an executive steering group on Tuesday, and able to build credibility quickly
- Comfortable handling objections and navigating organisational resistance. Automation changes how people work, and not everyone in the room wants it to succeed
- Highly analytical, ruthlessly organised and detail-oriented
- Highly autonomous and entrepreneurial, and comfortable in an environment where the playbook is still being written

**Nice to have:**

- Big Four or MBB consulting background
- Experience implementing SaaS or AI products
- Intelligent automation or RPA delivery experience
- Experience working with customers in insurance, healthcare or another regulated operational environment
- Prior experience at a startup or high-growth company where you built process from scratch

_If you like being the person who walks into a complicated operation, works out what's really going on, and gets something live that changes how a team works, we'd like to hear from you._
