Position Description
iPullRank is looking for a Director of Content Strategy to join our agency and lead our content and optimization team. This position is that of a player-coach, with responsibility for specific client deliverables in addition to leading our team of Content Strategists, content creators, developers and optimization specialists.
In leading the team, you will ensure disciplined adherence to content strategy and ensure that top-notch quality is being delivered, keeping out an eye for areas to improve, and collaborating with other Directors to elevate iPR’s suite of offerings. As a coach, you support your team’s professional development while supporting their work and removing any roadblocks.
On senior client accounts, you will develop brand messaging architecture and enforce governance models for our clients. As well, you will collaborate with the Research and Analytics team, aligning content strategy with audience research and overseeing the execution of content campaigns. If you are looking to bridge the gap between content strategy and execution, then this is your role! This job may be hybrid or remote. Salary range: $135-155K
What You’ll Do
Oversee all content deliverables, ensuring quality, comprehensiveness, and cohesion with content, data, and SEO strategy
Review data related to content performance and content potential to determine what content to build, optimize, and launch. Consistently track performance.
Develop multi-channel Content Strategy to inform client content creation efforts
Lead content strategy team members as well as, design, copywriting resources
Continue to build and manage growing network of content creators and contributors
Enforce and lead the adherence to content workflow and governance models both internally and externally
Perform extensive content audits
Lead brand voice and tone workshops for clients
Lead ideation sessions for content creation
Serve as trusted advisor and, when appropriate, educator to clients, ensuring value of content is clearly communicated and understood
Test and implement innovative and relevant methods of measuring content, campaigns and tools, keeping in mind the purpose of the derived results
Collaborate with the Market Research/Analytics and Development teams for insights that inform Content Strategy and delivery
Partner with Operations, Client Services, Business Development to support client acquisition and revenue growth
Contribute to company thought leadership efforts with internal and external teams

10 years of experience in a similar role with experience managing a team
Strong experience and understanding of digital marketing channels and measurement metrics: SEO, keyword research, information architecture, usability best practices
Experience developing and analyzing content in digital environments such as: content audits, content strategy recommendations, persona assessments, taxonomy efforts and applied usability learnings
Experience developing content for various verticals and multiple brand voices and tones and a talent for crafting data-driven stories
Content presentation and delivery skills - determine how content should be packaged and delivered to induce audience to take desired business actions
Previous experience with digital marketing tools such as SEMRush, Google Analytics, Buzzsumo, Screaming Frog
Strong analytical skills to spot patterns and trends in data and to be able to apply those patterns to recommend strategies
Experience leveraging market segmentation in the development of Content Strategy
Experience defining brand messaging architecture and implementing and enforcing governance models
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office or Google applications: Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs and PowerPoint/Slides
